If you want to lead, you need to listen


Many years ago, we decided to invest in a forum that had no sales agenda. Although we joined other vendors by providing money so the forum could be built, organized and executed, it would not be a “pay to play” sales tool.

The big idea, was to take the security vendor ecosystem (consultants, integrators, manufacturers) and put them in a room with risk, resilience and security executives as well as thought leaders. We would capture the best practices but more importantly, how the best was or should become better.

No one thought it would work. Just like many would say that security is a cost center the idea was not readily accepted that executives could share transparently and begin to create a new model for growth. This forum was about innovation and change. And, foundational to innovation and change would be a track on leadership and culture.

Very different approach launched in 2003.

The Great Conversation has grown in reputation among senior executives and their teams. One CSO who attended the Seattle forum, sponsored a conversation at his organization’s center of excellence. That forum will be held May 21 in Plano, Texas at Yum! Brands.

We will be there to participate, listen and learn.
