The 2017 Great Conversation is right around the corner and is shaping up to be an epic event. As in past Great Conversations, the Aronson Security Group (ASG) is focusing on forward thinking issues which impact Enterprise Security Risk Management.
I have had the pleasure of being involved with The Great Conversation since 2011. This, is the same year my company, Setracon Inc., started partnering with the Aronson Security Group and its Founder Phil Aronson. This was the first time to my knowledge that a forward thinking integrator thought it would be a very good idea to partner with a Risk Consultancy. As many of you know, in the highly recognized problem-solving process the first step is "Identify the Problem."
In my world, the problem-solving process is inculcated in an all-hazards risk, threat, and vulnerability assessment which not only defines the problems but suggests mitigations with a rationale for each mitigation that results in a Security Master Plan.
So what were we speaking about at the Great Conversation in 2011? Well Bill Bozeman of PSA Security Network was speaking about the Security Market and Lorna Koppel CSP then CSO for the Kohler Company was talking about the next generation of Security Architecture. Other speakers focused on creating long range goals for better physical and logical security, innovation, risk mitigation and intelligence. And I did a session on building a resilient organization through security.
Even back then we were discussing issues which were the framework for Enterprise Security Risk Management and Enterprise Risk Management. In subsequent posts, I will be re-examining the topics from previous years and how they have brought us to today.
So my question for you is: “where will you be on March 6 and 7?” You could be sitting in your office, or you could be getting educated on the future of our industry and be a part of a Great Conversation!
