Hugs® infant protection system
The Hugs system is a leading electronic security system to deter the abductions of infants from hospital obstetric departments.

Here's how it works. Each infant wears a small tamper-proof tag that is automatically enrolled in the system the moment it is attached. From that point forward, the tag reports in regularly to the system every ten seconds. The facility has a designated "safe area," where infants are normally located, and they may be moved freely within this area. All exits from the safe area are protected by door monitors. As soon as a tagged infant comes near an exit, an alarm occurs showing the specific tag and its exact location. And with the special tamper-proof strap, an alarm immediately occurs if anyone attempts to cut off the tag.

The Kisses® mother/infant matching option makes the Hugs system the only product to offer automatic audible indication that nurses have the right mother matched with the right baby when the two are brought together.

Pedz^TM pediatric protection system
The Pedz system is the first product designed specifically for use in pediatric departments to protect patients from abduction and flight risk. It introduces a number of firsts, based on the clinical needs of pediatric departments:

• Tamper-resistant tag with cut-resistant band: Any malicious attempt to remove the tag will result in an alarm, yet even the most curious kids will not trigger nuisance alarms by playing with the tag.
• Re-attachable band: The Pedz tag can be quickly removed when a patient needs to go for medical procedures and then re-attached using the same band. This saves time and money.
• Re-enroll feature: When a patient returns from a medical procedure and the tag is re-attached, it is automatically re-enrolled in the system and re-associated with the right patient data.
• Personalized security: Patients can be allowed to pass through some exits without causing an alarm. Access can be tailored to each patient based on their age and risk factors, as well as restricted based on the time of day.
• Kid-Centered: Each child can personalize the Pedz tag with colorful skins, so that they feel good about wearing the tag.

In addition, the Pedz system offers patient locating, and supports the Hugs infant tag for protecting very young patients within the pediatric department.
