Collaboration in Security - A PSA-TEC Recap
Posted on Thu, May 26, 2011
This past week, members of ASG’s business alliance and management team attended the 2011 PSA-TEC in Denver. It is PSA Security Network’s annual event bringing together integrators, manufacturers and end users from across the country. This year the focus was clear – collaboration. With strong attendance and thought-provoking speakers, forums and training classes, the urgency for integrators to collaborate across the security ecosystem was a key topic this year.
Patrick Donaldson, who recently joined ASG as its Business Development Manager said, “As a first time attendee to PSA-TEC, I was impressed with the depth of the seminars, variety of vendors, level of conversation and robust networking opportunities. This event will allow me to return to ASG with new knowledge about challenges and solutions that can be shared with other team members as well as help me to ‘test’ if our customer partners are experiencing the same challenges and provide them results.”
In the seminar “State of the Industry,” key representatives from each aspect of the industry provided candid conversations about where the industry has been, where it is now and what important steps it needs to take to move into the future. An underlying theme was the importance of sharing knowledge and business intelligence with the industry to benefit all of us. Emerging trends such as cloud computing, smartphone applications and incorporating social media continued to be evidenced in the training classes, vendor exhibits and forums in and around the conference.
Nigel Waterton, ASG's Director of Business Development & recently appointed PSA National Committee Chairman stated: “The information gained helped to strengthen ASG’s collective company knowledge bank and reaffirmed that there is a great resource in PSA.”
ASG has always attempted to align its client’s business goals with their strategic security plan and risk profile. Now, the industry is realizing how critical this is. ASG will continue to collaborate with PSA members and its alliance partners to ensure this continues.
